Congee Queen was born from a vision to bring the authentic comforting flavors of the mid-90s into a modern, premium space. While our roots trace back to the value-driven excellence of Congee Wong, the Queen was designed for the next generation of diners who value both heritage and ambiance.
We saw a gap in the market: traditional Cantonese food was often relegated to brightly lit, purely functional dining halls. We asked ourselves, why couldn't authentic wok-hei be served in a space that felt like a premium downtown destination?

Heartland and Beyond
Since opening our flagship locations, including the massive 10,000-square-foot destination in Heartland Town Centre, we have remained committed to the consistency and family-style generosity that defined our early years in Markham and North York.
But expansion hasn't diluted the standard. Every new location contains a custom-built wok station mirroring the exact specifications of the original. Our master chefs rotate through the restaurants to ensure the standard is maintained. We aren't just scaling a business; we are scaling a standard of excellence.
